Symbols and gibberish are displayed when the file is opened
SYMPTOMS
When the file is opened, strange characters, boxes and gibberish are displayed instead of the clear text and images you expected.
SOLUTION
PDF files must be opened with a PDF viewer such as Adobe Reader. If the file is opened with another program, such as Microsoft Word, it will display strange characters and gibberish. Open the file with Adobe Reader. Be sure you have the Techical Requirements for viewing PDF files.
